Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical subject matter expert and technical anchor for a Product Operations team supporting a live operational DoD system.
- Stand up, harden, maintain, and operate classified Linux infrastructure across globally distributed, air-gapped sites.
- Apply STIG compliance and system-hardening standards and own the deployed security posture.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform.
- Develop production automation, operational tooling, and workflow improvements in Bash and Python.
- Architect and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing, and observability across distributed systems.
- Manage Kubernetes containerized workloads at scale in production classified environments.
- Provide real-time incident response, root-cause analysis, and resolution across application and infrastructure layers.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, Mission Operations, and Technical Program Managers on operational readiness and deployments.
- Document systems, train remote staff, support customer sites, and serve as a first point of contact for operational issues.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support and drive proactive automation, optimization, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance that the candidate currently holds and can maintain; TS/SCI is preferred.
- At least 5 years of hands-on production Kubernetes experience, including deploying, scaling, debugging, and managing containerized workloads.
- Expert Linux proficiency, including networking, filesystems, systemd, SELinux, and kernel tuning.
- Experience applying STIGs, remediating findings, and implementing system hardening.
- Experience standing up and operating infrastructure in air-gapped or classified environments.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Strong Bash and Python scripting skills for production automation and operational tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack for monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing.
- Ability to lead through technical expertise, align engineers, and drive decisions without formal management authority.
- Strong communication, documentation, initiative, and self-direction in secure environments.
- Understanding of version control, code review, testing, and software development practices.
- Military or veteran experience, COMSEC and HAIPE-compliant Type-1 network encryptor experience, networking certification such as CCNA, Space Domain Awareness knowledge, Lattice OS familiarity, and Go, Rust, or Java proficiency are preferred.
