Base Salary
$94k - $142k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new or revised application systems and programs to meet business and user needs.
- Perform feasibility studies, estimates, application analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
- Develop backend Java applications using modern Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Design, secure, and maintain enterprise APIs and integrate applications with messaging and streaming platforms.
- Tune Oracle database queries and indexing strategies for performance.
- Build and maintain cloud-native applications and deployment processes using Docker and OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Apply enterprise security controls, vulnerability scanning, and secure coding practices.
- Create automated tests using JUnit and Mockito and follow test-driven development practices.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups to recommend programming solutions and resolve complex issues.
- Lead technical initiatives, advise senior stakeholders, define operating standards, and mentor new or lower-level analysts.
- Assess and escalate technology, control, compliance, and operational risks appropriately.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5–8+ years of professional software development experience, focused on backend Java development in an enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of Core Java, including Java 17/21 features, multithreading, concurrency, and memory management.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Core.
- Strong Oracle Database proficiency, including indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and securing enterprise APIs.
- Practical experience with Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka or IBM MQ and microservices integration patterns.
- Understanding of enterprise security controls, vulnerability scanning, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with JUnit and Mockito and commitment to test-driven development practices.
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives, designing system components, and mentoring developers.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Financial services experience is preferred.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Devin is preferred.
- Experience with React or Angular is highly desirable.

- Primary location salary range is $94,300.00–$141,500.00 per year.
