Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development on large-scale LLM training infrastructure and efficiency.
- Design and optimize distributed training strategies, parallelism schemes, computation, communication, and throughput scaling on large GPU clusters.
- Develop reliability and resilience techniques including fast checkpointing, fault tolerance, and failure diagnosis for long-running training workloads.
- Optimize networking, scheduling, and GPU memory management across the training stack.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks in exascale training systems and develop data-driven optimization methods.
- Translate research ideas into scalable production AI infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with large-scale distributed training for LLMs.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Strong background in ML systems or training infrastructure development.
- Proficiency with DDP, FSDP, model parallelism, pipeline parallelism, and expert parallelism.
- Solid understanding of PyTorch, CUDA, and NCCL training stack internals.
- Experience optimizing memory, communication, and throughput performance.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with distributed training frameworks and large-scale LLM infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience leading or mentoring engineering teams or cross-functional projects.
- Preferred: publications in top-tier AI, systems, or HPC conferences or strong open-source contributions.
- Preferred: familiarity with AI accelerator benchmarking or large-scale LLM evaluation, such as ByteMLPerf.
