Base Salary
$128k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship tooling and integrations that eliminate repetitive manual work across file processing, migrations, eligibility, contracting, and billing.
- Own enhancements and moderate-complexity features within automation and integration systems while partnering with commercial, product, and engineering stakeholders.
- Investigate implementation and escalation issues, identify root causes, and contribute to preventative fixes.
- Extend reusable templates, standards, and automation workflows rather than creating one-off customizations.
- Use AI-assisted development and modern automation to deliver solutions efficiently.
- Pair with senior engineers to improve scope definition, system design, and code quality.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, triage production issues, and support internal investigations.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient production code.
- Strong Ruby on Rails experience preferred, or backend engineering experience in another language with the ability to ramp quickly on Rails.
- Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
- Experience building and consuming APIs and integrating across service boundaries.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development and AI coding assistants, with a quality-conscious approach.
- Experience with workflow-automation platforms such as Tines, n8n, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated ability to ship measurable improvements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Solid debugging and optimization skills and a strong grasp of SDLC processes and frameworks.
- Ability to ramp onto unfamiliar codebases and consult system owners when appropriate.
- Preferred: experience with React or Vue, healthcare or regulated data-sensitive domains, or solutions engineering, implementation, or customer-facing technical environments.
