Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy production AI systems including agentic workflows, RAG services, and extraction pipelines.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to scope AI use cases, define success metrics, and finalize requirements.
- Write and review technical specifications and architecture documents for complex AI system components.
- Build and maintain evaluation harnesses and establish accuracy, latency, and cost baselines for production systems.
- Implement responsible AI practices including data handling, PII controls, hallucination mitigation, auditability, and human review.
- Manage the cost and performance of LLM workloads through model selection, caching, and usage attribution.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation across AWS and Azure.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and business functions in an Agile development environment.
- Mentor less-senior engineers on AI system design, evaluation methodology, and production readiness.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and shipping LLM-based or ML-based systems to production.
- A BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of an AI feature or service from design through evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Expert proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python; C#/.NET experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with LLM platforms and APIs such as Azure OpenAI, including prompt design, tool/function calling, structured outputs, and model selection tradeoffs.
- Experience building RAG pipelines involving chunking, embedding, hybrid retrieval, reranking, and grounding/citation.
- Strong understanding of schema-driven structured extraction using Zod, Pydantic, or JSON Schema.
- Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, golden datasets, LLM-as-judge methods, extraction precision/recall, and prompt or agent regression testing.
- Strong SQL proficiency and knowledge of relational and vector data storage, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch/vector stores.
- Experience with AWS and Azure compute, storage, networking, IAM, and managed AI services.
- Experience with containerized deployment, secrets management, and observability for token usage, latency, and cost attribution.
- Strong knowledge of software development best practices, test-driven development, and code review.
