Base Salary
$118k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural and structural design for the applicable RELX business unit.
- Act as a conduit between Global Architecture and engineering or development teams.
- Drive technical direction and architecture evolution through reviews and technical leadership.
- Lead teams in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex project issues and coordinating required resources.
- Evaluate new technologies and their applicability to the business.
- Monitor system health, identify negative trends, and propose remedies.
- Identify opportunities to evolve subsystems or components into shared infrastructure.
- Research technology advancements and build alliances to advance technical opportunities.
- Introduce and train teams on new technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software, network, or systems engineering.
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of one or more programming languages or an engineering discipline.
- Expertise in multiple areas including parallel and distributed processing, information retrieval, data mining, natural language processing, very large-scale databases, declarative languages, or high-performance computing.
- Working knowledge of network design, storage system architectures, service-oriented architecture technologies, XML and XSLT, or parallel processing architectures.
- Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows Server, UNIX/Linux, or z/OS.
- Strong project planning, time management, change management, delegation, problem-solving, research, communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Experience leading teams through complex technical problem resolution and translating findings into solutions, risk assessments, and schedule adjustments.

- U.S. national base pay range is $118,300-$219,800, with geographic differentials potentially applying.
