Base Salary
$93k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and deploy backend services, APIs, reliable distributed systems, and production features.
- Partner with technical leaders and the open-source community on technical designs, frameworks, roadmaps, and requirements.
- Provide domain expertise and engineering guidance for early designs, project decisions, and technical execution.
- Coordinate release cycles, prepare release notes, track development tasks and dependencies, and support production monitoring and issue triage.
- Collaborate with business, product, architecture, security, digital, and engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and foster ownership, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence across remote teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java development experience using Spring Boot and/or Spring MVC, with experience working in cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure and with end-to-end DevOps pipelines.
- At least 3 years of experience developing and maintaining backend systems, microservices, and APIs.
- Strong skills with relational and/or NoSQL databases and a foundation in software engineering, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and concurrency.
- Experience coordinating release cycles, preparing release notes, and tracking development tasks and dependencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience is also accepted.
- Preferred qualifications include healthcare domain experience such as PBM, NCPDP, or HIPAA; hybrid software development and release or operations experience; application and performance monitoring experience; message queues and event-driven architectures such as Pub/Sub or Kafka; and SRE or DevOps practices including incident management and root-cause analysis.
