Software Engineer - Infrastructure & DevOps

Base Salary
$180k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own Basic Capital’s SOC 2 Type II compliance, including security controls, process documentation, and auditor collaboration.
- Design and implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing across infrastructure.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Manage AWS infrastructure, including networking, security groups, IAM policies, and compliance-related configurations.
- Optimize system performance, latency, and cost efficiency as transaction volumes grow.
- Contribute across the technology stack as a founding member of the Infrastructure & Security team.
Requirements
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and services including EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Proven experience implementing security best practices and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency with Docker and orchestration platforms including Kubernetes and ECS.
- Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and encryption.
- Experience with observability and monitoring platforms including Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
- Preferred experience with secrets management, key rotation, encryption at rest and in transit, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security incident response.
- Preferred experience with disaster recovery planning, business continuity, fintech or early-stage technology companies, Kotlin backends, and Temporal.
