Base Salary
$242k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap and author scalable, secure, and operationally efficient system designs for card issuing and payment processing products.
- Write, review, and optimize code across the issuing and processing stack.
- Drive initiatives that improve performance, reliability, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency of core processing engines.
- Partner with Product Managers to analyze requirements and provide technical recommendations across core payments domains.
- Mentor and guide technical leads, influence stakeholders, and establish organization-wide engineering success metrics.
- Apply and evangelize software design and implementation best practices, including fault tolerance, high availability, and multi-region operation.
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in software engineering excellence, design principles, fault tolerance, scalability, cost, security and privacy, and test-driven development.
- Experience partnering with product teams to develop and launch solutions.
- Experience developing and scaling microservices with modern cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Experience with high-volume, low-latency data infrastructures and systems running in multiple regions.
- Understanding of security engineering best practices and experience designing solutions that follow those standards.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kafka, JPOS, and AWS services.
- Experience in payment processing, card issuing, payments, authorization, clearing, settlement, tokenization, or ledger systems is preferred.
- A master's degree in Software Engineering is preferred.
