Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end system features across user experience, frontend, backend, and distributed messaging components.
- Lead Kafka producers, consumers, stream-processing logic, configuration, event pipelines, schema evolution, retries, dead-letter processing, backpressure, and traceability.
- Collaborate with multiple teams, make team and cross-team technical decisions, and provide solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Act as a subject matter expert, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and mentor junior team members.
- Use approved AI coding assistants for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and integration testing with human review and validation.
- Support AI inference, embedding updates, and retrieval-augmented generation data ingestion through approved downstream services.
- Evaluate security, message ordering, delivery semantics, idempotency, schema compatibility, throughput, latency, cost, prompt-injection resistance, and sensitive-data handling.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience is required.
- At least 5 years of experience with Apache Kafka is required.
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka and experience with distributed messaging systems and event-driven architecture.
- Strong knowledge of backend and frontend development frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, deployment strategies, performance troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Experience with agile software development and continuous integration practices.
- Hands-on experience using approved coding assistants, context-rich prompting, generated-code review, and automated test validation.
- Ability to work with Kafka event pipelines supporting AI inference, embedding updates, retrieval-augmented generation data ingestion, schema evolution, retries, dead-letter processing, backpressure, and traceability.
- Experience with Java or Python, LLM APIs, and project-approved retrieval or vector-store integrations.
- Knowledge of capital markets and investment management, including securities, trading, portfolio management, investment operations, and related financial services processes.
- A minimum of 15 years of full-time education is required.
