Responsibilities
- Design and implement security layers within device firmware in alignment with product security requirements and ASIC security IP capabilities.
- Integrate firmware with hardware-based and firmware-based Root of Trust subsystems.
- Implement cryptographic primitives and authentication and encryption flows in firmware.
- Ensure secure handling of cryptographic material and prevent unauthorized access to protected assets.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on ASIC security IP, HSMs, and secure key storage.
- Support security testing, threat analysis, vulnerability mitigation, security assessments, design reviews, and risk evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in firmware or embedded systems development.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for low-level, resource-constrained environments.
- Hands-on experience with secure boot, firmware authentication, cryptography, access control, and embedded security architectures.
- Experience with register-level programming, SoC integration, and Root of Trust architectures.
- Exposure to flash storage, controller firmware, or SoC-based embedded platforms.
- Understanding of secure manufacturing, RMA modes, and field update security.
- Experience supporting security reviews, internal audits, or SDL processes.
