Responsibilities
- Provide software development and long-term operations and sustaining support for the ARMD Test Data Portal.
- Perform system health checks, capacity monitoring, user and permission management, and storage management.
- Recommend and implement data management, system integration, performance, security, and technical innovation solutions.
- Provide problem resolution support for NASA users and manage software updates and security configurations for third-party platforms and tools.
- Track service tickets, update internal system management tasks, and mentor and train junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- Four to six years of related software development or administration experience, including at least two years of software development.
- Active Security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
- Experience with an object-oriented language such as Java or C++.
- Experience with software engineering practices, requirements development, source control, configuration management, bug tracking, application security, encryption protocols, LDAP or Kerberos authentication, certificates, and OS/application hardening.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, Red Hat Linux, JavaScript, jQuery, development environments, Atlassian tools, XML, Apache, Spring Boot, HDF5, MongoDB, and cloud hosting such as AWS or Azure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet project milestones and deadlines, and communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse researchers and software developers.
