Base Salary
$163k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, evaluate, and document networking features, connectivity solutions, and open-source client dataplane code.
- Develop and improve Tailscale Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure and associated network protocols.
- Investigate and resolve complex escalated networking issues across diverse technical environments.
- Maintain live services through observability, incident management, and technical support escalations.
- Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and availability of networking systems.
- Apply security-focused practices throughout the design and implementation of networking components.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to advance hosted services and clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience in networking software development and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing.
- Experience with distributed systems and global-scale services.
- Experience applying SRE and DevOps practices; Go experience is highly desired.
- Ability to work autonomously, collaborate with highly technical teams, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced startup environment.
