Responsibilities
- Design, build, evaluate, and document networking features, connectivity solutions, and the open-source client-code network dataplane.
- Develop and improve Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure and associated network protocols.
- Investigate and resolve complex, escalated networking issues across diverse technical environments.
- Operate live services through observability, incident management, technical support escalations, and reliability improvements.
- Contribute to hosted services, clients, and product dataplane capabilities in collaboration with internal engineering and product teams.
- Apply security-focused practices throughout the design and implementation of networking components.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in networking software development and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing.
- Experience with distributed systems, global-scale services, and SRE and DevOps practices.
- Go experience is highly desired because most systems are developed in Go.
- Strong communication, collaboration, autonomy, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
