Responsibilities
- Design and build clean, testable, efficient backend systems.
- Architect scalable APIs and infrastructure for high-trust, high-volume requirements.
- Solve complex product challenges by analyzing user needs and system behavior.
- Shape engineering practices and technical culture through collaboration and hands-on leadership.
- Consider long-term architectural implications across projects and systems.
Requirements
- Require 5 to 7+ years of backend engineering experience building production-grade systems, APIs, or distributed services.
- Proficiency in at least one of Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Java, with Node.js and TypeScript strongly preferred.
- Experience designing scalable backend infrastructure for fintech, payments, identity, or other high-trust or regulated environments.
- Production experience with Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar message queues and event-driven architectures; Event Sourcing familiarity is a bonus.
- Experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes, AWS, or similar containerized or cloud environments.
- Strong systems thinking, communication, collaboration, ambiguity tolerance, and early-stage environment experience.
- Must be based in a European timezone.
