Base Salary
$173k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the strategic technical direction for the Experience platform and broader Engineering organization.
- Design, architect, and implement software systems for genomic applications and patient and provider experiences.
- Drive complex, ambiguous projects from scoping through production while owning design, architecture, and implementation strategy.
- Advance AI adoption in engineering workflows by directing AI agents and developing prompt libraries, context frameworks, safeguards, and evaluations.
- Shape engineering standards, delivery practices, and quality expectations across Engineering.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, user experience researchers, scientists, and business leaders.
- Mentor engineers and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.
- Champion durable solutions that improve reliability and eliminate categories of technical debt.
Requirements
- 10+ years of equivalent professional experience as a Software Engineer with demonstrated impact at scale.
- Strong product engineering mindset with decisions anchored in customer and business outcomes.
- High autonomy and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- Experience implementing AI adoption in engineering workflows and building safeguards and evaluations for AI-generated code at scale.
- Proficiency with distributed systems built on cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Deep full-stack expertise and proficiency in a backend language such as Go, Java, Python, Scala, or Rust.
- Experience developing and maintaining single-page applications with frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, or similar using TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Track record of raising technical standards and practices beyond the immediate team or department.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulated software systems, including HIPAA, ISO, or FDA environments, is a plus.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures, AWS serverless infrastructure, or software for life sciences, healthcare, or genomics is a plus.
