Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, existing code, system processes, business rules, and impacts to develop application solutions.
- Develop new mainframe applications and implement enhancements, break/fix changes, and reusable modules.
- Write, maintain, debug, and review quality code in accordance with technology architecture and coding standards.
- Perform unit, integration, and component testing; prepare test cases, remediate defects, and support test environments.
- Support deployments through implementation planning, verification, incident resolution, and off-hours support.
- Provide technical expertise during incident management, including impact assessment, outage analysis, and communication through resolution.
- Estimate development and design work, maintain traceability to business requirements, and support knowledge transfer.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience on application development teams.
- Expert coding skills in technologies such as COBOL, SQL, JCL, and SAS.
- Expert database skills with technologies such as DB2 and IMS.
- Advanced to expert knowledge of application design and development tools and methodologies.
- Ability to code, debug, research, analyze, and resolve development and production issues.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile methodology.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-influencing skills.
- University or college degree and/or equivalent work experience.
