Base Salary

$170k - $195k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Embed in key initiatives or product pods and ship meaningful product features end-to-end.
  • Own outcomes from customer problem definition through production delivery.
  • Use AI for specification, code generation, evaluation, and development-loop improvement.
  • Model strong coding, testing, system design, and deployment practices.
  • Pair with engineers to transfer practices through hands-on collaboration.
  • Drive ambiguous and high-impact technical problems and make decisions with incomplete information.
  • Contribute across the full stack and cloud-native services.
  • Shape service boundaries, data flows, APIs, observability, reliability, and deployment practices.
  • Debug distributed systems and make durable architectural decisions.
  • Own production systems, including observability, reliability, deployments, postmortems, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Modernize large interconnected codebases while maintaining production stability.
  • Influence technical direction within pods and contribute to broader engineering improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and leave systems, practices, and teams stronger.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping products.
  • Deep fluency in at least one modern typed web stack, with experience or ability to work across Node, TypeScript, React, and SQL.
  • Strong systems thinking, architectural judgment, and ability to debug across service boundaries.
  • Experience owning services end-to-end, including building, deploying, running, monitoring, observability, on-call support, and postmortems.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or similar.
  • Strong production instincts and experience maintaining healthy systems over time.
  • Experience establishing or improving strong testing practices for teams.
  • Ability to navigate and improve large existing codebases quickly.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities and multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills across engineering, product, and business contexts.
  • Experience collaborating with Product and Design as peers.
  • A customer-focused product mindset connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.
  • Significant experience using AI tools to improve development workflows and outcomes, with concrete examples of impact.
  • Track record of mentoring, pairing, elevating engineers, and influencing without authority.
  • Ability to work within the United States and meet the stated physical requirements, including prolonged computer work and lifting up to 15 pounds.
