Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure across networking, IAM, compute, storage, databases, and security.
- Own the Infrastructure as Code strategy using Pulumi and build reusable infrastructure components and shared modules.
- Build and maintain application and infrastructure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Improve release automation, deployment safety, local development, and engineering workflows.
- Build and maintain infrastructure for AI systems, including LLM evaluation pipelines, RAG infrastructure, vector search, and model deployment.
- Support Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenSearch, and related AWS services in partnership with ML engineers.
- Monitor production systems, improve observability, respond to incidents, and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Improve resiliency, availability, disaster recovery, performance, cost efficiency, and scalability through automation.
- Define technical standards and infrastructure direction, participate in platform architecture discussions, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating production software systems.
- Strong production experience with AWS.
- Experience designing Infrastructure as Code with Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Strong Python experience and experience building APIs and backend systems.
- Experience with AWS Organizations, ECS, Docker, IAM, VPC networking, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and SNS/SQS.
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, vector databases, RAG, LLM evaluation pipelines, model deployment, ML infrastructure, and Dagster or similar orchestration platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong written communication, comfort with ambiguity, ownership mindset, and interest in improving reliability and developer experience.
- Nice-to-have experience includes Pulumi, Dagster, Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenSearch, ECS, PostgreSQL, Redis, New Relic or modern observability platforms, AI/ML products, SOC 2 or security/compliance, and startups.
