Responsibilities
- Architect and standardize SLO/SLI frameworks and error-budget policies across engineering groups.
- Lead the design and rollout of secure, scalable Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native Kubernetes environments.
- Drive observability strategy and implement telemetry solutions across distributed systems.
- Lead critical incident response, post-incident reviews, and systemic mitigation efforts.
- Build automation frameworks and platform tools in Python or Go to reduce operational friction and enforce security compliance.
- Mentor and advise software and reliability engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability, managing high-throughput distributed systems and cloud infrastructure at scale.
- Advanced expertise in Kubernetes, Linux internals, cloud networking, and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform and AWS.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go for building automation tools and system integrations.
- Proven experience leading incident response, blameless post-mortems, and root-cause prevention.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include CKA, CKS, or cloud-provider certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect; knowledge of SOC 2 and CIS benchmarks; and experience using generative AI tools for development and diagnostic automation.
