Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve the Android SDUI renderer and the backend services that feed it.
- Develop Kotlin, Golang, and Protobuf services supporting complex, real-time UI updates at scale.
- Lead architectural improvements and code reviews to maintain the renderer’s quality, visibility, and operational health.
- Partner with iOS and Web renderer engineers, product teams, and design teams on platform decisions, rollouts, and roadmap planning.
- Own large-scale initiatives from design through delivery, including native-equivalent SDUI motion and interaction quality and migration from legacy rendering systems.
- Mentor colleagues and participate actively in the engineering hiring process.
Requirements
- Several years of experience building Android applications at scale.
- Deep expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Backend development experience with Golang, Kotlin, and Protobuf.
- Experience building or maintaining a server-driven or declarative UI system; Litho or another DSL-based renderer is a bonus.
- Demonstrated ownership of technical delivery, implementation choices, and technical design within cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills across time zones and with iOS, Web, Backend, product management, and product teams.
- Commitment to readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested mobile code.
- Exposure to Figma-to-code tooling, design-token or theming systems, or mobile accessibility work is a bonus.
