Responsibilities
- Design and implement features end to end, from specification through testing, review, and deployment.
- Contribute to distributed ledger technology powering financial market infrastructure.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, test coverage, and documentation.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making grounded in distributed systems experience.
- Collaborate with a globally distributed Agile team across time zones using asynchronous-first communication.
- Provide constructive feedback during technical discussions and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional Scala experience.
- Strong command of functional programming patterns, including typeclasses, effect systems, immutability, and referential transparency.
- Strong understanding of the Scala type system, including implicits/givens, type inference, and compiler-based correctness guarantees.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, including consensus mechanisms, fault tolerance, eventual consistency, and partition handling.
- Experience working with gRPC, Protobuf, and service-oriented architectures.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and ownership.
- Experience with Canton and/or Daml is preferred.
