Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Development, Support, and DevOps teams to resolve customer-impacting issues in Signals Cloud and on-premises products.
- Own CI/CD and repository governance, including workflow hardening, branch protection, required status checks, and secure release automation.
- Own system reliability and monitoring for a large-scale data platform.
- Build and operate an automated alert-triage system that deduplicates, routes, and classifies operational alerts.
- Manage monitoring infrastructure as code with Terraform across development, QA, and production environments.
- Create design documents, runbooks, incident reports, and lessons-learned knowledge, and mentor teams on on-call practices.
- Develop documented, testable, reusable tooling and application code using backend technologies.
- Migrate monitor rules to declarative, version-controlled definitions and manage safe rollout processes.
- Remediate CI flakiness, upgrade runner tooling, and enforce engineering guardrails across repositories.
- Handle production incidents through triage, root-cause resolution, and preventative follow-up.
- Continuously improve alerting and monitoring quality by reducing noise, consolidating duplicate rules, and validating routing changes.
Requirements
- Experience with SRE practices including on-call operations, incident triage, runbooks, safe canary or soak rollouts, and blameless postmortems.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD systems and repository and release governance.
- Experience using AI-assisted development and code-review tooling to improve delivery quality.
- Familiarity with large-scale data pipelines and table or store design under concurrent access.
- Strong AWS experience, including SQS, EMR/Spark, RDS, IAM least privilege, Secrets Manager/SSM, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code at scale, including module design and multi-environment promotion.
- Deep experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Sumo Logic, Instana, Datadog, or similar, plus alert-design expertise.
- Programming experience across multiple languages is a plus, including Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Scala or Spark, and shell scripting.
