Base Salary
$215k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the architecture, technical direction, and scaling roadmap for Crusoe Cloud's container registry.
- Drive high-impact changes from design through production while owning scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop performance strategy, profile and optimize the system, and anticipate demand and constraints before they affect customers.
- Establish engineering patterns and standards for the registry.
- Raise the team's technical bar through architecture, design and code reviews, mentorship, and hands-on technical leadership.
- Influence designs across adjacent teams and align with product and other partners on priorities and tradeoffs.
- Lead the technical response when production issues occur and remain accountable for how the registry performs, degrades, and recovers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including building and operating distributed systems.
- Proven success designing, scaling, and hardening distributed systems in high-load production environments.
- Deep practical experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing distributed systems across latency, throughput, caching, and resource tradeoffs.
- Experience owning critical systems from design through production and operating them under pressure.
- Strong fundamentals in microservices and cloud-native infrastructure technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Proficiency with one or more of Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and collaborate with technical and non-technical partners.
- Experience mentoring engineers, raising technical standards, and contributing to hiring.
- Bonus: familiarity with OCI image and distribution specifications.
- Bonus: experience building container registry products.
- Bonus: experience with storage or caching systems at scale.
