Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Python scripts, CLIs, REST API integrations, and scheduled jobs for security and operational automation.
- Automate evidence collection, configuration checks, alert enrichment, ticket creation, reporting, and basic remediation workflows.
- Write unit tests, logging, error handling, and documentation for safe, supportable automations.
- Create and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for linting, testing, scanning, packaging, and controlled deployments.
- Read, update, and test Terraform modules and plans while identifying insecure cloud configuration patterns.
- Automate AWS inventory, access reviews, configuration validation, tagging checks, and security findings triage.
- Develop narrowly scoped internal agents using approved tools and permitted knowledge with human approval for impactful actions.
- Collaborate with security, platform, cloud, SOC, and engineering teams and participate in incident follow-up, peer review, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Working proficiency in Python and REST APIs, including the ability to read, debug, and improve others' scripts.
- Hands-on Git and GitHub experience and familiarity with CI/CD concepts and GitHub Actions.
- Fundamental understanding of AWS services, IAM, networking, logging, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- Basic Terraform experience or strong willingness to learn Terraform through repository work.
- Understanding of least privilege, secrets handling, code review, and change control.
- Preferred qualifications include security tooling, SIEM/SOAR, vulnerability management, ticketing, cloud operations, container technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, policy-as-code, enterprise AI tools, LLM APIs, RAG, MCP, or agent frameworks.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Security+, or a comparable learning path is preferred.
- Candidates should be comfortable learning unfamiliar tools, asking technical questions, documenting work clearly, and validating AI-generated code.
