Base Salary
$155k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, refine, and deliver robust onboard software features with end-to-end ownership.
- Review code, provide feedback, and uphold software development processes, style guides, and design standards.
- Create unit tests for self-authored and peer-authored code.
- Use version control to manage feature branches and merge approved code into production branches.
- Contribute to onboard software architecture through design proposals and collaborative reviews.
- Coordinate with downstream teams on software release, distribution, and adoption.
- Participate in operating Loft Orbital’s on-orbit satellite fleet.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience using C/C++ including C++11 or newer and Python.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as GitLab-CI or Jenkins.
- Experience with build systems such as Make or CMake.
- Experience with library management and ABI/API version control.
- Understanding of distributed architecture, networking protocols, and POSIX standards.
- Experience developing multithreaded applications.
- Preferred experience with Go or Rust.
- Preferred experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, device trees, systemd, and Linux on ARM platforms.
- Preferred proficiency with pytest, Googletest, or Unity and experience with gRPC, ZMQ, NATS, Docker, K3S, or systemd-nspawn.
