Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize high-performance forwarding and encapsulation services for Amazon EC2 networking.
- Implement low-level software that interacts directly with networking hardware and embedded CPU cores.
- Lead architecture decisions and participate in system design, design reviews, code reviews, and implementation.
- Manage day-to-day development activities and maintain current technical knowledge.
- Mentor junior engineers and help ensure appropriate development practices are followed.
- Communicate with users, technical teams, and senior management about requirements, software features, technical designs, and product strategy.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience with C/C++, kernel or embedded development, hardware specifications, and low-level performance optimization is relevant to the role.
