Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality solutions.
- Modernize real-time news systems and content systems that feed products including Newswires, Factiva, and The Wall Street Journal.
- Create and deploy microservices in a service mesh environment.
- Implement, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and support multi-region and multi-environment systems with high availability and disaster recovery.
- Implement RESTful APIs following industry standards.
- Conduct investigation, analysis, evaluation, and prototyping to assess project feasibility.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage technical project scope, milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
- Provide technical feedback, guidance, recommendations, and training to management and stakeholders.
- Write secure code and resolve security vulnerabilities in existing code.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience.
- At least 5 years building high-performance backend systems as a full-stack software engineer.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Java developer in a Linux environment.
- Experience creating and deploying microservices in a service mesh environment.
- Experience implementing RESTful APIs following industry standards.
- Experience supporting multi-region, multi-environment systems with CI/CD, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience writing secure code and resolving security vulnerabilities.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology in geographically and culturally diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, learn new skills, think critically, and collaborate effectively.
