Responsibilities
- Own frontend development for Bridge’s core product, including shipping features, fixing complex bugs, and modernizing legacy code.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, backend engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver product initiatives.
- Contribute to project architecture and oversee microfrontend frameworks across more than 20 production applications.
- Build accessible components and interfaces with semantic HTML, keyboard and screen-reader support, and WCAG conformance.
- Develop and maintain frontend functionality using React, TypeScript, shared components, TanStack Query, and React Context.
- Use automated testing and component-development tools including Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, MSW, and Storybook.
- Support internationalized, locale-aware interfaces and monitor real-user frontend performance, including Core Web Vitals.
- Integrate with backend services, data systems, messaging, and infrastructure while working primarily as a frontend specialist.
Requirements
- Deep, production-proven experience with React and TypeScript and adjacent frontend tooling.
- Strong frontend fundamentals and experience working in large, legacy, under-documented codebases.
- Ability to understand high-level architecture, connect legacy logic with modern services, and make sound technical trade-offs.
- Commitment to accessibility as a core development requirement, including WCAG, keyboard, and screen-reader support.
- Ability to work across diverse technology stacks and communicate directly and constructively with technical and cross-functional partners.
- Working familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Java/Kotlin Spring Boot services, PostgreSQL, AWS data services, messaging, ETL, and infrastructure tooling is expected or can be developed on the job.
- Bonus experience with microfrontends or module federation, Rails or JVM systems, Terraform, CI/CD, graph or search infrastructure, and AI coding assistants such as Claude Code.
