Responsibilities
- Lead complex, high-risk, and technically ambiguous customer deployments.
- Design agentic workflows, write and improve prompts, build integrations, debug failures, analyze system behavior, and ship production solutions.
- Diagnose issues across customer environments, integrations, agent performance, data quality, and platform behavior.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple customers and Forward Deployed Engineering workstreams.
- Review solution designs, implementation plans, testing strategies, and production readiness.
- Coach FDEs and help less experienced engineers improve their problem-solving, debugging, and systems-thinking skills.
- Identify architectural weaknesses, risks, and reliability issues before they affect customers.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to distinguish deployment-specific issues from platform-level gaps.
- Convert recurring customer challenges into reusable platform capabilities, internal tools, reference implementations, and technical standards.
- Improve practices for testing, observability, debugging, incident response, documentation, and release management.
Requirements
- Significant experience in software engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, implementation engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
- Experience serving as a technical lead or senior individual contributor on complex, customer-facing software deployments.
- Ability to work across customer workflows, integrations, agent behavior, debugging, and reliable production solutions.
- Strong technical judgment, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and ability to lead without formal management authority.
- Ability and willingness to remain hands-on with difficult implementation and debugging work.
- Strong coaching skills and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving situations.
- Deep interest in AI agents, prompting, automation, and multi-agent systems; prior experience is valuable but not required.
- Located in Toronto or willing to relocate.
- A science, engineering, or similarly technical educational background is helpful but not required.
