Base Salary
$197k - $345k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate performant, reliable, highly available, and scalable distributed data services for Slack.
- Manage critical production infrastructure and drive reliability, uptime, and operational safety.
- Develop services including edge caches, Enterprise Key Management, data residency capabilities, image proxying, and other core Slack functionality.
- Untangle complex architectural issues and make persuasive engineering-versus-product trade-offs.
- Apply unit testing, code review, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting practices to production systems.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
- 10+ years of professional experience building and operating large-scale systems, with concrete examples of shipped and owned work.
- Hands-on experience managing critical production infrastructure and driving reliability and uptime.
- Deep experience with reliable, safe distributed systems and complex architectural trade-offs.
- Strong fundamentals in unit testing, code review, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Professional experience building and operating web applications.
- Go programming language exposure is a bonus.
- Experience with AWS, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and FEDRAMP/NIST-regulated environments is a bonus.
