Base Salary
$197k - $345k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, ship, and maintain edge caching services supporting approximately 35% of Slack API traffic.
- Collaborate with engineering peers to triage bugs and resolve sophisticated production issues across the service stack.
- Write automation to maintain services and reduce manual intervention.
- Review code, receive code reviews, and mentor and learn from other engineers.
- Design and build solutions that improve service reliability and resilience.
- Write, review, and provide feedback on technical design proposals.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, triage production issues, and respond to incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
- At least 6 years of professional experience building large-scale systems.
- Experience managing critical production infrastructure, maintaining reliability and uptime, and prioritizing operational safety.
- Experience with reliable, safe distributed systems and engineering and product trade-offs.
- Experience analyzing complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of company architecture.
- Professional experience developing and operating web applications, including unit testing, code review, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- US citizenship or Green Card status is required.
- Preferred experience with Go, AWS, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and FEDRAMP/NIST frameworks.

- The stated base salary range is $197,300–$313,700 annually, or $237,700–$344,700 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan locations; bonus, equity, and benefits are excluded from the range.
