Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across UI, API, integration, event-driven, microservices, and distributed system layers.
- Influence system design, testability, observability, reliability, release readiness, and quality architecture.
- Embed automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines using Java or Python, Playwright, REST API tools, SQL, BDD, and testing frameworks.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, load, stress, resilience, and production validation testing.
- Use logs, metrics, traces, and production telemetry to investigate failures, identify quality risks, and guide testing priorities.
- Use and evaluate AI/GenAI tools and outputs for test design, automation, debugging, and quality engineering workflows.
- Apply prompt engineering, context management, responsible AI practices, Spec-Driven Development, and Agents, Skills, and MCP integrations.
- Own release certification, regression strategy, production validation, incident triage, root-cause analysis, documentation, and on-call production support.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, product teams, operations, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve delivery outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, SDET, quality engineering, automation engineering, reliability engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Expert-level Java and/or Python proficiency with object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and maintainable software practices.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, REST API and microservices testing, SQL, scalable automation frameworks, BDD, and CI/CD quality gates.
- Experience testing distributed systems, event-driven architectures, high-availability platforms, and low-latency systems.
- Experience with performance, load, stress, resilience, regression, integration, and production validation testing.
- Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub or equivalent CI/CD platforms, and Git or equivalent source control practices.
- Experience using AI/GenAI tools, evaluating AI-generated code and tests, prompt engineering, context management, Spec-Driven Development, Agents, Skills, and MCP integrations.
- Experience with release certification, incident triage, root-cause analysis, production support, and on-call rotations.
- Preferred qualifications include JMeter, Perfecto, cloud and containerized environments, observability platforms, quality dashboards, security testing, certifications, and financial services or other mission-critical domain experience.
