Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using pushdown principles, efficient data models, CDS views, associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Implement performance-critical logic with AMDP and SQLScript and build modular, testable, maintainable ABAP aligned with clean architecture practices.
- Develop OData services and APIs with stable versioning, contract-first behavior, secure coding, and authorization checks.
- Create AI-enabled SAP experiences using LLM tool calling, retrieval-grounded generation, prompts, tool schemas, context assembly, deterministic fallbacks, and safety boundaries.
- Build automated unit, integration, contract, performance, and AI evaluation tests using golden datasets, scenario-based tests, monitoring, and regression detection.
- Implement AI guardrails including authorization-aware filtering, redaction, action confirmations, and audit logs.
- Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces; implement retries, idempotency, correlation IDs, safe failure modes, runbooks, and structured diagnostics.
- Integrate SAP services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, cloud runtimes, enterprise integration platforms, event-driven systems, and API gateways.
- Collaborate with UX, integration, data, and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure, compliant, and production-ready solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP Development for HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling, including associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown.
- Solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, testing, production readiness, and CI/CD orientation.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Experience or knowledge of OData and service design, API lifecycle management, contract-first development, SAP integration with cloud runtimes, enterprise integration platforms, performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance.
- The role requires building AI behaviors and governed SAP solutions rather than training or fine-tuning foundation models from scratch.
