Responsibilities
- Design and develop the web-based 3D IFC model viewer from architecture through implementation.
- Evaluate open-source libraries and tools such as IFC parsers and WebGL frameworks.
- Implement model navigation features including object selection, section cuts, and property inspection.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on server-side geometry processing and data APIs.
- Optimize viewer performance for large and complex files.
- Iterate on the viewer using feedback from end users.
Requirements
- Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript and backend JavaScript runtimes such as Node.js or Deno.
- Good understanding of 3D graphics or computational geometry concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with web development, WebGL or related 3D frameworks, Python, IfcOpenShell, BIM concepts, geospatial data, agentic development workflows, or WebAssembly is a plus.
