Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities using Java, Spring Boot, and React or Angular.
- Drive Kafka-based event-driven architecture, including idempotency, retries, ordering, error handling, dead-letter queues, and schema versioning.
- Establish testing, automation, CI/CD quality gates, observability, and other engineering practices.
- Own production excellence through incident reduction, root-cause prevention, performance tuning, resilience, and operational readiness.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical direction through design reviews and cross-team technical alignment.
- Lead responsible adoption and validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
- Design resilient, highly available applications with appropriate recovery and failure-mode considerations.
- Apply secure engineering practices covering authentication, authorization, secure APIs, data protection, dependency hygiene, and technology controls.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Deep expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, and React or Angular.
- Strong Kafka and event-driven architecture experience, including retries, idempotency, dead-letter queue patterns, and schema versioning.
- Experience with SQL databases, data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong NoSQL experience with Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch, including modeling, reliability, and scale.
- Strong experience with Cloud Foundry or AWS and CI/CD strategy and execution.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, or Grafana for observability and monitoring.
- Demonstrated leadership in design reviews, mentoring, cross-team alignment, and effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools.
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and validation of AI-generated work.
- Working knowledge of secure engineering and Cyber Security and Technology Control requirements.
- PCI experience, cross-team delivery leadership, and an AWS certification are preferred.
