Base Salary
$170k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and automate the software development lifecycle and infrastructure supporting Fieldwire.
- Own the health, scalability, reliability, performance, and security of production systems.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and preventative improvements.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems.
- Set technical direction and make architectural decisions for platform infrastructure.
- Design and improve Infrastructure-as-Code projects and reusable infrastructure patterns.
- Develop and support internal tools, environments, workflows, and developer productivity systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to scale the platform and drive adoption of operational standards.
- Mentor engineers on infrastructure best practices, operational excellence, and secure system design.
- Participate in and help lead on-call, change management, and incident management processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5–7 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE, including direct ownership of production systems.
- Expertise in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, or Rust.
- Proven experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and associated services relating to CI/CD at scale.
- Deep production experience with Docker and containerization.
- Substantial experience participating in and leading on-call rotations and resolving production incidents.
- Experience developing and driving adoption of change and incident management processes.
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with tools such as AWS CDK or Terraform.
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams.
- Preferred qualifications include Rust ecosystem familiarity, multi-account and multi-region CI/CD experience, package management strategy experience, and leadership of cross-team infrastructure or reliability initiatives.
