Base Salary
$159k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed software architecture deliverables to solve business problems.
- Define the end-to-end architecture for robotics middleware, runtimes, inter-process communication, platform services, and compute systems.
- Establish APIs, reference designs, standards, and architectural roadmaps for autonomy, machine learning, controls, simulation, and data teams.
- Design application infrastructure, including databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
- Evaluate and deploy technologies that enhance digital technical capabilities.
- Guide cross-functional teams through complex autonomous-system software integration and technology decisions.
- Provide technical direction and influence architecture standards across multiple engineering organizations without direct authority.
Requirements
- Progressive experience in software engineering and architecture focused on robotics or platform software at a senior or principal level.
- Strong experience architecting robotics platforms and middleware, including runtimes, inter-process communication, platform services, ROS 2, or DDS.
- Experience defining onboard, edge, and cloud compute architectures, real-time execution, resource management, GPU or accelerated compute, and containerized deployment for robotic or autonomous systems.
- Deep understanding of software-layer integration among perception, planning, controls, and machine platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to define APIs, reference designs, standards, technology roadmaps, and governance practices that enable multiple engineering teams.
- Experience with public-cloud software delivery, environment management, test automation, peer review, CI/CD, and resource optimization.
- Strong analytical, requirements-analysis, communication, mentoring, coaching, persuasion, and strategic architecture leadership skills.
- Ability to work full-time onsite five days per week in Irving, Texas; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
