Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop scalable, highly available firmware and networking components for Cisco Meraki switching products.
  • Analyze requirements and create software designs, detailed design documents, and functional specifications.
  • Code, unit test, debug, triage, and determine root causes for software bring-up and customer failures.
  • Collaborate with local and remote teams on product requirements, software specifications, unit and integration test plans, and functional and system test strategies.
  • Lead significant networking features and provide technical leadership for high-performance engineering teams.
  • Develop innovative ideas that may result in patents and new intellectual property.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field with 12–15 years of experience, or a master's degree with 10–12 years of experience.
  • Proficiency writing quality code in C/C++.
  • Experience developing software or firmware for networking products.
  • Excellent software architecture and system design skills.
  • Experience with concurrent programming and IPC/RPC mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of L2/L3 network fundamentals and hands-on development with L2/L3 protocols.
  • Technical leadership experience guiding teams in the design and implementation of quality features and solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI technologies such as Codex and Claude.
  • Experience with C/C++ debugging and verification methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience with traffic generators or analyzers such as IXIA or Sniffer is a plus.
  • Cisco networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are desirable.
