Responsibilities
- Define, design, and deliver scalable solutions for the Global Transaction Banking Data Platform.
- Establish reference architectures, engineering standards, design patterns, and long-term platform roadmaps.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive platform adoption and successful implementation.
- Build and maintain platform documentation and ensure it reflects system changes.
- Design for platform resilience and reliability, including graceful handling of upstream and downstream failures.
- Estimate and plan engineering efforts for scalable and sustainable platform solutions.
- Identify, prioritize, manage, and eliminate technical debt.
- Drive initiatives autonomously while promoting inclusion, innovation, continuous improvement, and a product-oriented engineering culture.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Promote customer-centric platform capabilities that improve client experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong hands-on development experience with modern programming languages such as Java and Python.
- Deep experience designing and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs with frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, and Neo4J.
- Strong data-modeling expertise, including graph-based data models.
- Experience building and scaling big data platforms using Apache Spark and Databricks.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, streaming platforms, and stream-processing systems.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems, modern backend architectures, containerization, orchestration, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of security, scalability, performance, optimization, GenAI, and LLM applications in engineering and platform development.
- Experience across multi-cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Strong system design, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments and Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency with Splunk, Kibana, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
- Cash Management or Transaction Banking experience is preferred.
