Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate scalable, reliable, secure, and highly available distributed systems and backend services.
- Own end-to-end technical designs for key services and subsystems, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and drive implementation decisions across backend, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms.
- Build and maintain production services using C#/.NET or another major object-oriented programming language, web services, and modern API patterns.
- Apply LLM-assisted development, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery and build intelligent product capabilities.
- Improve engineering quality through automated testing, observability, operational excellence, and practices such as TDD and DDD.
- Drive improvements to reliability, performance, scalability, and developer experience across the platform.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for production services.
- Mentor engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and influence technical direction across distributed teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with C# and .NET or another major object-oriented programming language and web services.
- 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or a major relational database, including performance tuning, maintenance, schema design, and operational best practices.
- Experience designing and operating enterprise-grade SaaS systems, distributed services, and cloud operational infrastructure.
- Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ and in-memory data stores such as Redis.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, etcd, and service mesh architectures.
- Experience deploying and operating containerized workloads on Kubernetes in production using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Terraform or Pulumi.
- Proficiency with Test-Driven Development, Domain-Driven Design, API testing, and modern engineering quality practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and influencing technical direction across teams.
- Preferred experience with AI-native development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Agentforce; LLMs, RAG, model integration patterns, AI-assisted workflows, or intelligent product features.
- Preferred experience with observability, analytics, automation, or data platforms such as New Relic, Snowflake, Ansible, or Python.
- Preferred experience with Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to collaborate with product, design, engineering, and globally distributed teams in a fast-paced SaaS or technology-driven environment.
