Responsibilities
- Design and own a comprehensive risk-based test strategy spanning functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Transform manual regression into a prioritized automation-first process by risk-tiering coverage, retiring redundant cases, and driving the automation backlog.
- Design and maintain test plans and test cases for significant product features.
- Identify, document, track, and triage defects in collaboration with Development.
- Participate in product design and refinement reviews to identify quality and testability risks early.
- Coordinate Product, Development, and QA on testing requirements and test-layer ownership.
- Partner with Development to define the unit-test layer and testing boundary for critical modules such as signing and authentication.
- Maintain test documentation, quality metrics, and reporting for engineering leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in QA methodologies, tooling, processes, and regression safeguards.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and share QA best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in QA engineering, QA analysis, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, prioritize, rationalize, and reduce large or bloated test suites using risk-based test strategy.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and influence skills, including participation in product design reviews and negotiation of testing ownership.
- Solid test-automation literacy sufficient to prioritize automation backlogs and evaluate unit, API, and UI test layers.
- Experience with test-management tooling, manual testing, defect tracking, and traceability practices.
- Ability to lead complex initiatives, drive strategic change, and influence cross-functional decision-making.
- Extensive knowledge of quality methodologies, industry trends, and cross-functional processes.
- Preferred exposure to security, PKI, certificate-management, or compliance-sensitive domains.
- Preferred familiarity with BDD, Gherkin-style specifications, and Cucumber-based test suites.
- Preferred experience transitioning teams from manual-heavy testing to automation-first practices.
- Preferred understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration.
