Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware for handheld ground stations integrating displays, input devices, wireless modules, and battery systems.
- Implement interfaces with radio links and optimize responsiveness, power efficiency, and thermal performance.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers on hardware-software integration.
- Conduct field validation and debugging under realistic mission scenarios.
- Write maintainable production code and contribute to firmware platform architecture as the GCS product line evolves.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong experience with embedded C/C++ and real-time firmware development.
- Proficiency with CPUs, MCUs, hardware abstraction layers, and protocols including SPI, I2C, and UART.
- Experience with embedded Linux.
- ARM experience and wireless communications integration with technologies such as LoRa, Wi-Fi, LTE, or custom RF are preferred.
- Experience with handheld or ruggedized control systems in defense, aerospace, or robotics is a bonus.
- Ability to work autonomously, solve complex technical problems, communicate effectively, and lead diverse stakeholders.
