Responsibilities
- Maintain, debug, and enhance legacy applications built with .NET Framework, Python, JavaScript, and Java.
- Analyze and resolve production issues while minimizing downtime.
- Design and implement deployment pipelines using AWS services, Docker, and Ansible.
- Containerize legacy applications and orchestrate deployments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management with Ansible.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, administer relational databases, and implement safe migrations and schema updates.
- Develop unit and integration tests, improve test coverage, and establish test automation frameworks.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and alerting across legacy applications.
- Own application improvements end to end and contribute to modernization and refactoring initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; current enrollment in a four-year program or equivalent professional experience is also accepted.
- Demonstrated experience with at least two of .NET Framework, Python, JavaScript, and Java.
- Understanding of legacy application patterns and technical debt.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including services such as EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, and CodePipeline.
- Proficiency with Docker containerization and experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Strong SQL query writing and optimization skills.
- Experience administering and troubleshooting relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, JUnit, pytest, or Jest.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and version-control skills, including Git or a similar tool.
- Preferred qualifications include experience across multiple legacy stacks, monitoring and observability tools, infrastructure-as-code, application modernization, AWS or other cloud certifications, and agile development practices.
