Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable Java microservices and user interfaces for Disney’s Ad Platform.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver user-centric advertising features.
- Translate user stories into engineering tasks and own work from development through deployment.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, documentation, and informal guidance without direct reports.
- Implement metrics, monitoring, alerting, and other observability improvements.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support operational excellence.
- Champion code quality, automated testing, agile workflows, and compliant use of AI tools.
Requirements
- 15–18 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Java and related frameworks, including Spring Boot and ORMs.
- Experience with React or modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue and Angular.
- Strong experience with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema and query design.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong computer science foundations in data structures and algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding platforms.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS.
- Preferred: BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
