Responsibilities
- Develop scoped software features and components under the direction of senior engineers.
- Write maintainable code, comprehensive unit tests, and follow coding standards and secure coding practices.
- Contribute to AI-native features through prompt design assistance, API integration, and basic evaluation.
- Work on features from design through development, testing, and deployment with guidance.
- Troubleshoot and debug development and staging issues, escalating complex problems when needed.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, design reviews, sprint planning, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Learn and apply automated testing, deployment pipeline, and CI/CD practices.
- Use AI tools to improve daily productivity and support junior teammates through knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, or JavaScript, with willingness to learn additional languages.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing, and debugging.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL, plus familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern web services.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts; hands-on LLM or AI API experience is a plus.
- Prior ServiceNow experience or coursework is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, learning, and independent-task execution skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
- Commitment to thorough testing, software quality, continuous learning, and owning code through deployment.
