Responsibilities
- Investigate complex reliability, performance, and data-quality issues across platform services, APIs, and customer workflows.
- Design, build, and maintain AI-driven automation, services, and internal web tools.
- Write production-quality code, implement fixes, improve monitoring and alerting, and contribute to shared libraries and tooling.
- Lead root-cause analysis and post-incident follow-through with multiple engineering teams.
- Create automated unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage and participate in release-readiness activities.
- Communicate investigation status and actionable guidance during live-site events.
- Analyze escalation trends, propose engineering solutions, and influence product roadmaps.
- Document troubleshooting knowledge, build self-service experiences, and mentor other teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of technical experience in software, network, service, systems, or industrial-controls engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one of C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript, with the ability to write maintainable and testable code.
- Experience building automation or services integrating with APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on production debugging using logs, metrics, and traces.
- Daily experience using AI-based coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT while validating correctness, security, and performance.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security-screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
Benefits
- Employees within the stated commuting distance of a designated non-U.S. Microsoft office are expected to work from the office at least four days per week beginning January 26, 2026, subject to local law and jurisdiction.
