Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow Paga’s technical vision and participate in strategic business and product decisions.
  • Own the architecture, design, implementation, performance, reliability, cost, security, and maintainability of major platform areas or services.
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership to Software and Database Engineers across one or more teams.
  • Lead architectural decisions involving scalability, security, reliability, modularity, infrastructure, deployment, and delivery.
  • Drive improvements to technical product development processes in collaboration with product development management.
  • Conduct broad-scoped and in-depth code reviews for technically complex and high-impact changes.
  • Partner with industry and ecosystem organizations to accomplish product goals.
  • Support technical and non-technical decision-making, triage, quality delivery, and the growth of team capabilities.

Requirements

  • A degree in a related discipline and 10+ years of continuous enterprise software application development experience, or an advanced degree in a related discipline and at least 8 years of such experience.
  • Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, and other Java frameworks.
  • Experience with Kafka and other stream-processing platforms.
  • Understanding of microservice architecture concepts.
  • Experience with Vue.js and React front-end frameworks.
  • Experience with relational database architecture and administration, including MSSQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containerization frameworks.
  • Knowledge of OLTP and financial transaction processing concerns.
  • Experience with cloud deployment architecture, including Azure and AWS.
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into suitable software designs and implementations and operate at both strategic and detailed levels.
  • Ability to make decisions across complex business and technical trade-offs, manage multiple product-development streams, and take ownership in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant frameworks, tools, platform services, and business functions, with a commitment to quality and developing others.
