Responsibilities
- Study requirements and clarify questions with business analysts and customers.
- Build, maintain, and update manual and automated test scenarios, test cases, and scripts.
- Create test plans, estimates, and process improvements.
- Execute and report automated and manual test results.
- Troubleshoot automated test scripts and report system issues and anomalies through the issue-tracking system.
- Review test scenarios, test scripts, defect reports, and status reports.
- Provide regular status updates to leads and managers.
- Research QA tools and approaches and recommend improvements.
- Share knowledge and coach or nurture excellence within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in the software development lifecycle, preferably testing multi-tiered applications.
- Experience with Linux/UNIX environments, backend applications built on REST APIs, SQL, test plans, and test automation.
- Experience designing and writing automation scripts with TypeScript, JavaScript, Selenium, Playwright, Mocha, Chai, Node.js, and Cucumber.
- Understanding of standard software QA processes and methodologies.
- Experience testing applications deployed in AWS.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, problem-solving ability, and capacity to work under pressure.
- Preferred experience in capital markets, Jenkins, FIX protocol, real-time systems, and integration testing with upstream/downstream systems.
