Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, implementation, and governance of the team’s software development lifecycle.
- Design and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and reproducible production-ready development workflows.
- Reduce lead time for changes by identifying and removing friction in the software delivery pipeline.
- Define the long-term architecture and technical vision for the team’s software platform.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor into engineering workflows.
- Develop robust platform components, tools, and reusable libraries for scientific image-processing workflows.
- Coach peers on software engineering best practices and sustainable development practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience architecting and integrating scalable, end-to-end software solutions.
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing production-grade software in Python.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including system design, coding, testing, documentation, and debugging.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, architectural abstractions, scalable systems, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience building high-throughput data pipelines and modeling or optimizing RDBMS and NoSQL data.
- Experience with CI/CD, version control, containerization, and automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Heavy use of AI-assisted coding tools and strong communication, coaching, and knowledge-sharing skills.
- Intermediate or advanced English proficiency and a capacity for continuous learning.
- Preferred experience with Scrum, AWS, ELK, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, georeferenced and geospatial data, STAC APIs, computer vision, or machine learning.
