Base Salary
$250k - $315k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, onboard, coach, and manage the US East Forward Deployed Engineering team in New York.
- Own customer onboarding, production deployment, adoption, consumption growth, retention, expansion, and churn reduction across the team’s accounts.
- Track and improve retention and expansion revenue, time to production, consumption growth, and account health metrics.
- Participate in critical customer onboardings and escalations, review integrations, and solve complex technical problems.
- Run weekly account health reviews and ensure every at-risk account has an action plan and owner.
- Support presales requests from Solutions Architects and manage handoffs after deals close.
- Create field-driven content including webinars, blog posts, case studies, and event presentations.
- Communicate product gaps and prioritize them based on the revenue impact of customer needs.
Requirements
- Several years of programming experience, including the ability to build and deploy a production server and debug customer integrations.
- Experience working in real codebases and production systems.
- At least 4 years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as forward deployed engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or software engineering with customer ownership.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
- A track record of driving adoption, retention, or expansion on technical accounts.
- Ability to communicate clearly with CTOs, engineering leads, and executives.
- Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements.
- Preferred experience managing forward deployed, customer, or solutions engineers at an API, developer-tools, AI, or modern database company.
- Preferred experience building with LLMs, RAG, or agents and discussing retrieval and search quality credibly.
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage environment with changing responsibilities.
